Three account terms, three different jobs
- Managed Instagram accounts
- The accounts you connect and EngageMate operates from. Your plan limit applies to these accounts.
- Audience source accounts
- Public accounts whose followers guide discovery. They do not use a managed-account slot.
- Audience targets
- Individual people EngageMate may view or engage with. The target limit applies separately to each managed account.

Free to sign up, connect a managed account, and set its voice. You pick a plan when you want it to start running. Past your monthly engagements, overage is opt-in at $0.08 per successful engagement, and it is off until you turn it on.
A skipped, gated, duplicate, or failed attempt is never billed. Only an action that actually sent counts.
Billing
You are billed for what sent.
Reserved, then finalized
An engagement is reserved before the action runs and only becomes billable once it actually sent. A failure releases the reservation.
Overage is opt-in
Off until you turn it on, with a cap you choose. At $0.08 an engagement, past your monthly allowance.
Shared across managed accounts
Your monthly engagements are a pool, so a quiet managed account leaves room for a busy one.
FAQ
The questions worth asking.
What counts as an engagement?+
One action that actually sent: a like, a reply, or a DM from a target's active Story. A skipped, gated, duplicate, dry-run, or failed attempt is never billed. If the gate blocks a reply for a banned phrase, you pay nothing for it.
What does free actually get me?+
Sign up, connect a managed Instagram account, choose audience source accounts and targets, and write the voice without paying. You pick a plan when you want the worker to start running. There is no free tier that engages on your behalf.
What happens when I run out of engagements?+
Nothing, unless you opt in. Overage is off by default. Turn it on and additional engagements are $0.08 each, with a cap you set. Leave it off and the worker simply stops for the month.
Will this get my account banned?+
It might. Instagram has no official API for engaging with other people's Stories, so this drives a real browser, and no design can guarantee an automated account is never restricted. What the product does is give each managed account its own residential proxy and fingerprint, ramp it slowly, and stop at the first challenge or checkpoint. Start with one managed account and watch it.
Do you need my Instagram password?+
No. A Chrome extension captures the session from a browser you are already logged into. No password is entered into EngageMate and none is stored. Log out on Instagram and the session dies.
Can I change plans?+
Yes, in both directions. Downgrading is checked against what you are actually using, so you cannot drop to a plan that supports fewer managed accounts than you have connected without disconnecting one first.
Are the examples on this site real customer results?+
No. Every screenshot on this site is the real application running against seeded demo data, and it is labeled that way. There are no customer results, testimonials, or growth numbers here, because there are none to show yet.

Worth doing if you need more managed accounts than a plan covers or want something custom, if you have questions about how the worker behaves, or if you would rather see it running before you sign up. Everything else is self-serve.
