How it works
Watch. Read.
Send one thing.
EngageMate does one job per account per day: find the Stories worth responding to and respond to them the way you would, if you had the time and were awake at the right moment.
Connect one Instagram account
A Chrome extension captures the session from a browser you are already logged into. EngageMate never asks for your password and never stores one.
Add the accounts worth watching
Your target list. Rank the ones that matter most and the worker reaches them first each run.
Write the voice
Up to 2,000 characters describing how this account talks, plus any phrases that must never appear. Set per account, not per login.
A vision model reads each active Story
Not a template and not a keyword match. The decision comes from what the Story actually shows, which is why the replies reference specifics.
One action goes out
A like, a reply, or a DM from that Story, at a human pace, inside the lower of your warm-up stage, plan ceiling, and configured limits.
A real decision
What one run actually looks like.
Two decisions from the same account, on the same run. One sent, one stopped by the gate before it could embarrass anybody.
target @studioamberlight
story lighting setup, softbox camera-left, bare wall
read technical, invites a specific question
draft “That softbox placement on the left is doing a lot of work. Did you diffuse it or is that the wall bouncing?”
gate pass · no banned phrase · en
action reply sent
target @slowroast.pdx
story repost, little original context
read low confidence, generic
draft “Amazing!! You should check out our lighting kit, link in bio”
gate blocked · banned phrase “link in bio”
action nothing sent
The gate is deterministic, not another prompt. It runs after generation and before sending, so a model having an off moment cannot talk its way past your rules. A blocked action costs you nothing: skipped, gated, duplicate, and failed attempts are never billed.
Where it lands
Every action, with its reasoning.
The feed shows what went out, to whom, and what the worker was thinking. A gated action shows up too, with the reason it stopped.

The loop
Nothing skips a step.
Inspecting a Story is not an engagement action. Nothing sends until the decision clears the gate, the budget has room, and the pacing window opens.
